Romblon is an island province spanning seven inhabited islands — Tablas (the largest, hosting 9 of the province's 17 municipalities), Sibuyan, Romblon, Banton, Simara, Carabao, and Maestre de Campo — with zero chartered cities. It was first constituted a province by Act No. 104 of the Philippine Commission on March 16, 1901, and had a genuinely eventful administrative history afterward: reabsorbed into Capiz in 1907, re-established in 1917-1918, abolished into special municipalities in 1940, and permanently restored as a regular province under Republic Act No. 38 after World War II, before moving into the newly created MIMAROPA region in 2002.
Key industries: Marble quarrying ('Marble Capital of the Philippines'), Fishing, Agriculture (coconut, rice)
Marble quarrying, practiced since the 18th century with an estimated 150 million metric tons of reserves, has earned Romblon its branding, though its exact national market share is genuinely disputed across sources. Sibuyan Island hosts Mount Guiting-Guiting Natural Park, a roughly 15,265-hectare protected area declared in 1996 that is a recognized Key Biodiversity Area and one of the most technically demanding climbs in the country. The province took a direct hit from Typhoon Melor (Nona) in December 2015, with the storm's eye tracking across Tablas, Sibuyan, and Banton.

An island province spread across seven separate landmasses, anchored by a centuries-old quarrying industry with documented environmental concerns, is exactly the kind of geographically dispersed, multi-jurisdiction planning load a live cross-LGU dashboard is built to help a PPDO coordinate.
With 17 municipalities spread across seven separate islands, Romblon's PPDO has a genuinely dispersed coordination challenge. A Nova Gov pilot brings CLUP and SGLG status into one view across all 17 LGUs, wherever they sit.
